Quick answer

Download your Deutsche Bank bank statement as a PDF from Online-Banking / Deutsche Bank app under Kontoauszüge, upload it to StatementPilot, and export Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX or QIF. We check that the "Alter Saldo" plus every transaction equals the "Neuer Saldo" so you know nothing was missed.

What a Deutsche Bank bank statement looks like

Deutsche Bank Kontoauszüge list Buchung, Valuta, Vorgang, Soll and Haben, with 'Alter Saldo' and 'Neuer Saldo'.

German 'Kontoauszug' PDFs show 'alter Kontostand' and 'neuer Kontostand', with Buchungstag and Wertstellung (value date) columns.

How to convert a Deutsche Bank statement

  • Sign in to Online-Banking / Deutsche Bank app under Kontoauszüge and download the statement for the period you need as a PDF (not a screenshot).
  • If the PDF is password-protected, open it and save an unprotected copy first.
  • Upload one or several months to StatementPilot. Scanned or photographed statements are read with OCR.
  • Check the reconciliation panel: the "Alter Saldo" plus deposits minus withdrawals should equal the "Neuer Saldo".
  • Export to Excel or CSV for analysis, or QBO/OFX/QIF to import into DATEV, lexoffice and sevDesk.

Dates, amounts and account numbers in Germany

Amounts use 1.234,56; debits carry a trailing minus or are shown as 'S' (Soll) and credits as 'H' (Haben). We read the date order from the statement itself and default to DD.MM.YYYY for Germany, so 03/04 is never silently swapped.

Accounts are identified by IBAN (starting with DE) and BIC. Only the masked or last digits are carried into QBO/OFX files, as those importers expect.

Importing Deutsche Bank transactions into your accounting software

Accountants in Germany most often import into DATEV, lexoffice, sevDesk and Excel. Choose QBO for QuickBooks, the Xero CSV for Xero, OFX for most other packages, or Excel/CSV for anything else.

When your bank feed only goes back a few months, converted Deutsche Bank statements fill the gap for older periods without manual typing.

Why statements are still needed

Businesses must retain bank statements for 10 years under German retention rules (GoBD).

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a Deutsche Bank bank statement to Excel?

Yes. Upload the PDF and download an .xlsx file with date, description, amount and balance columns plus a summary sheet showing the alter saldo, neuer saldo and reconciliation result.

How do I get my Deutsche Bank statement as a PDF?

Statements are available in Online-Banking / Deutsche Bank app under Kontoauszüge. Choose the statement period and download or save it as a PDF; a printed copy can also be scanned or photographed and uploaded.

Can I import Deutsche Bank transactions into DATEV?

Yes. Export the converted statement in the format DATEV accepts (QBO, OFX or a formatted CSV) and import it as a bank statement file. Dates are written in the format your software expects.

Do I need a Deutsche Bank template?

No. StatementPilot doesn't rely on bank-specific templates, so redesigned Deutsche Bank statements and older layouts both work. The reconciliation check confirms nothing was missed.
