Quick answer
If your statement is a scan, fax or photo, there is no text to copy. Upload it anyway: we detect image-only pages, read them with AI vision OCR, and then verify the result against the printed balances so misread digits are caught before export.
How to do it
- 1
Upload a scanned PDF or a JPG/PNG/WebP photo.
- 2
Image pages are read with vision OCR automatically.
- 3
Balance checks highlight any row that doesn't add up.
- 4
Correct flagged cells and export.
Tips for better scans
- Scan at 300 DPI in grayscale; colour adds size without improving accuracy.
- Photograph pages flat, in good light, filling the frame and avoiding shadows.
- Upload all pages of the statement so opening and closing balances are both present.
- Remove passwords from PDFs before uploading.
Why balance checks matter more for OCR
OCR errors are rarely obvious: a 3 read as an 8 still looks like a valid number. Because we recompute the closing balance from the extracted rows — and the running balance row by row — a single misread digit shows up as a specific flagged row, not as a silent error in your books.

Frequently asked questions
Can I upload a photo taken on my phone?
Yes. JPG, PNG and WebP images are supported. For multi-page statements, a PDF scan keeps pages in order.
Do scanned pages cost more?
No. A page is a page, whether it's digital or scanned.
What if a scan is too blurry?
The reconciliation will fail and flag the rows involved. You can correct them in the review table or upload a clearer scan; failed conversions don't use pages.
