CSV to QBO converter

Turn your bank's CSV download into a .qbo file QuickBooks can import — without uploading anything.

Quick answer

Choose your CSV, confirm which column holds the date, description and amount (or debit and credit), pick the date order, and download a .qbo file. In QuickBooks Desktop use File › Utilities › Import › Web Connect Files; in QuickBooks Online use Banking › Upload transactions.

When you need a QBO file instead of CSV

QuickBooks Desktop does not import CSV bank transactions at all — it needs a Web Connect (.qbo) file. QuickBooks Online accepts CSV, but QBO files keep the account type, avoid column-mapping mistakes and carry unique transaction IDs (FITIDs) that prevent duplicates if you import the same file twice.

About the Intuit bank ID

QuickBooks Desktop checks the INTU.BID value in a QBO file against its list of supported banks. 3000 (Wells Fargo) is a widely accepted default. If QuickBooks reports that your bank is not supported, try your own bank's ID, which you can find in Intuit's financial institution list.

Have a PDF statement instead?

This tool only handles CSV. To convert a PDF or scanned statement directly to QBO, use the PDF to QBO converter — StatementPilot extracts and reconciles the transactions first.

Frequently asked questions

Is this CSV to QBO converter really free?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no account and no limits; your file is never uploaded.

Why does QuickBooks say the file can't be imported?

The most common causes are an unsupported INTU.BID, dates in the wrong order, or importing into an account of a different type. Check the date order setting and try bank ID 3000.

Can I convert a credit card CSV?

Yes — set Account type to Credit card so the file uses the credit card statement format QuickBooks expects.

Got PDFs instead of CSVs?
