Quick answer

Upload your statement and download a UTF-8 CSV with one row per transaction: Date (YYYY-MM-DD by default), Description, Amount, Debit, Credit, Balance, Check Number and Reference. Specialised CSV layouts for QuickBooks and Xero are one click away.

How to do it

  1. 1

Upload the statement PDF or image.

  2. 2

    Review the reconciled transactions.

  3. 3

Pick CSV (or the QuickBooks / Xero CSV variant) and your preferred date format.

  4. 4

Import the file wherever you need it.

A CSV that imports the first time

  • Consistent ISO dates (or MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY if you prefer) — no mixed formats from different pages.
  • Signed amounts with a period decimal separator, plus separate debit and credit columns.
  • Proper quoting for commas and quotes in descriptions, and protection against spreadsheet formula injection.
  • UTF-8 with BOM so accented payee names open correctly in Excel.

Three CSV layouts

Standard CSV keeps every column we extract. QuickBooks CSV is the three-column Date / Description / Amount layout that QuickBooks Online's bank upload accepts. Xero CSV uses Xero's statement import headers (*Date, *Amount, Payee, Description, Reference) so the column mapping screen is already filled in.

When CSV is the right choice

CSV is the most portable format: accounting software, budgeting apps, BI tools, Python and SQL databases all read it. If you are importing into QuickBooks Desktop or Quicken, a QBO or QFX/OFX file is usually smoother because it carries account information and duplicate-protection IDs.

Frequently asked questions

What columns are in the CSV?

Date, Description, Amount, Debit, Credit, Balance, Check Number, Reference and Category. The QuickBooks and Xero variants use the exact columns those tools expect.

Can I choose the date format?

Yes. Pick ISO (YYYY-MM-DD), US (MM/DD/YYYY) or day-first (DD/MM/YYYY) when you export.

Do debits come out as negative numbers?

In the Amount column, money out is negative and money in is positive. The Debit and Credit columns are both positive numbers, if your template prefers that layout.

Is there a page limit?

Each plan has a monthly page allowance and a per-file page limit; the Free plan covers 20 pages a month and files up to 10 pages.
