Understanding reconciliation status

What Reconciled, Mismatch and Unverifiable mean and how to fix a mismatch.

  • Reconciled — opening balance plus all transactions equals the closing balance (to the cent), using the right convention for deposit or credit card accounts.
  • Mismatch — the totals don't agree. We show the difference and the rows most likely involved: a broken running balance, a row whose sign may be reversed, or duplicates.
  • Unverifiable — the statement doesn't print an opening or closing balance (common with partial exports). Other checks still run.

Fixing a mismatch: look at highlighted rows first. Typical fixes are flipping a sign, correcting a misread digit on a scan, or adding a row that was cut off at a page break. The status updates as you edit.
