CSV bank statement

Definition

Bank transactions saved as comma-separated values — one row per transaction, readable by spreadsheets and accounting software.

A CSV statement contains columns such as Date, Description and Amount (or Debit and Credit). Banks often provide CSV downloads for recent months, while older periods are only available as PDFs.

CSV has no fixed standard, so the column names, date format and sign convention vary; importing software asks you to map columns.
