Glossary
QIF (Quicken Interchange Format)
Definition
An older plain-text format for financial transactions, still supported by some desktop finance tools.
QIF lists transactions as lines starting with letters: D (date), T (amount), P (payee), N (number), M (memo), terminated by ^. It has no transaction IDs and no fixed date format.
Modern tools prefer OFX, but QIF remains useful for older software and some account types.
