Convert Société Générale bank statements to Excel, CSV & QBO

Convert Société Générale bank statements (PDF or scanned) to Excel, CSV, QBO or OFX, reconciled against the nouveau solde. Free for 20 pages a month.

Quick answer

Download your Société Générale bank statement as a PDF from Espace client under Relevés, upload it to StatementPilot, and export Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX or QIF. We check that the "Solde précédent" plus every transaction equals the "Nouveau solde" so you know nothing was missed.

What a Société Générale bank statement looks like

Société Générale relevés list Date, Valeur, Nature de l'opération, Débit and Crédit with 'SOLDE PRÉCÉDENT AU' at the top.

French statements ('relevé de compte') show 'Solde précédent' and 'Nouveau solde', with Date, Date de valeur, Nature des opérations, Débit and Crédit columns.

How to convert a Société Générale statement

  • Sign in to Espace client under Relevés and download the statement for the period you need as a PDF (not a screenshot).
  • If the PDF is password-protected, open it and save an unprotected copy first.
  • Upload one or several months to StatementPilot. Scanned or photographed statements are read with OCR.
  • Check the reconciliation panel: the "Solde précédent" plus deposits minus withdrawals should equal the "Nouveau solde".
  • Export to Excel or CSV for analysis, or QBO/OFX/QIF to import into Pennylane, Sage and Excel.

Dates, amounts and account numbers in France

Amounts use 1 234,56 with Débit and Crédit columns. We read the date order from the statement itself and default to DD/MM/YYYY for France, so 03/04 is never silently swapped.

Accounts are identified by IBAN (starting with FR) and RIB. Only the masked or last digits are carried into QBO/OFX files, as those importers expect.

Importing Société Générale transactions into your accounting software

Accountants in France most often import into Pennylane, Sage, Excel and QuickBooks Online. Choose QBO for QuickBooks, the Xero CSV for Xero, OFX for most other packages, or Excel/CSV for anything else.

When your bank feed only goes back a few months, converted Société Générale statements fill the gap for older periods without manual typing.

Why statements are still needed

Banks must keep statements available and many offer 5–10 years of PDF archives online.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a Société Générale bank statement to Excel?

Yes. Upload the PDF and download an .xlsx file with date, description, amount and balance columns plus a summary sheet showing the solde précédent, nouveau solde and reconciliation result.

How do I get my Société Générale statement as a PDF?

Statements are available in Espace client under Relevés. Choose the statement period and download or save it as a PDF; a printed copy can also be scanned or photographed and uploaded.

Can I import Société Générale transactions into Pennylane?

Yes. Export the converted statement in the format Pennylane accepts (QBO, OFX or a formatted CSV) and import it as a bank statement file. Dates are written in the format your software expects.

Do I need a Société Générale template?

No. StatementPilot doesn't rely on bank-specific templates, so redesigned Société Générale statements and older layouts both work. The reconciliation check confirms nothing was missed.
