Convert Desjardins bank statements to Excel, CSV & QBO
Convert Desjardins bank statements (PDF or scanned) to Excel, CSV, QBO or OFX, reconciled against the solde au relevé. Free for 20 pages a month.
Quick answer
Download your Desjardins bank statement as a PDF from AccèsD under Statements, upload it to StatementPilot, and export Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX or QIF. We check that the "Solde reporté" plus every transaction equals the "Solde au relevé" so you know nothing was missed.
What a Desjardins bank statement looks like
Desjardins caisse statements combine all member accounts and are usually in French, with Retrait, Dépôt and Solde columns.
Canadian bank statements commonly show a running balance on every line, with separate Withdrawals and Deposits columns, and dates printed as 'Jan 05' without the year.
How to convert a Desjardins statement
- Sign in to AccèsD under Statements and download the statement for the period you need as a PDF (not a screenshot).
- If the PDF is password-protected, open it and save an unprotected copy first.
- Upload one or several months to StatementPilot. Scanned or photographed statements are read with OCR.
- Check the reconciliation panel: the "Solde reporté" plus deposits minus withdrawals should equal the "Solde au relevé".
- Export to Excel or CSV for analysis, or QBO/OFX/QIF to import into QuickBooks Online, Xero and Sage 50.
Dates, amounts and account numbers in Canada
English statements use 1,234.56 while French-language statements use 1 234,56. Date order varies by bank, so we detect it from the statement itself. We read the date order from the statement itself and default to DD/MM/YYYY for Canada, so 03/04 is never silently swapped.
Accounts are identified by a transit (branch) number, institution number and account number. Only the masked or last digits are carried into QBO/OFX files, as those importers expect.
Importing Desjardins transactions into your accounting software
Accountants in Canada most often import into QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage 50 and Excel. Choose QBO for QuickBooks, the Xero CSV for Xero, OFX for most other packages, or Excel/CSV for anything else.
When your bank feed only goes back a few months, converted Desjardins statements fill the gap for older periods without manual typing.
Why statements are still needed
Paperless statements are typically available for up to 7 years in online banking.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert a Desjardins bank statement to Excel?
Yes. Upload the PDF and download an .xlsx file with date, description, amount and balance columns plus a summary sheet showing the solde reporté, solde au relevé and reconciliation result.
How do I get my Desjardins statement as a PDF?
Statements are available in AccèsD under Statements. Choose the statement period and download or save it as a PDF; a printed copy can also be scanned or photographed and uploaded.
Can I import Desjardins transactions into QuickBooks Online?
Yes. Export the converted statement in the format QuickBooks Online accepts (QBO, OFX or a formatted CSV) and import it as a bank statement file. Dates are written in the format your software expects.
Do I need a Desjardins template?
No. StatementPilot doesn't rely on bank-specific templates, so redesigned Desjardins statements and older layouts both work. The reconciliation check confirms nothing was missed.
